Palate Personalities: Savoring Food, One Myers-Briggs Type at a Time

Food recommendations based on personality

Have you ever taken one of those Myers-Briggs personality tests to see which of the 16 describes you? We did some digging to see what food you might enjoy based on your personality. Of course! While Myers-Briggs personality types can’t definitively determine someone’s culinary preferences, we can make some fun and general food recommendations based on personality traits associated with each type. Keep in mind that these are just suggestions and individuals may have varied tastes.

Here are some dish recommendations based on Myers-Briggs personality types:
  1. ISTJ (The Inspector): ISTJs tend to be practical and traditional. They often appreciate classic comfort foods. A hearty pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy might be a good choice.

    ISTJ
  2. ISFJ (The Protector): ISFJs are nurturing and caring. They may enjoy preparing or indulging in homemade chicken soup with warm bread rolls.

    ISFJ
  3. INFJ (The Advocate): INFJs are often introspective and enjoy deep flavors. A spicy and flavorful curry, such as Indian or Thai, might be a delightful choice.

    INFJ

Too much alcohol on the nose? I describe it as the wine being hot. Try cooling it down. You can also tell if the wine is too cold if you can’t smell anything on the wine… warm it up by wrapping your hands agains the glass.
